Please assist in covering costs for registration!

Nompumelelo Gloria Mkhonza is the daughter of Ntombi Gloria Mkhonza, the single mother who cleans and maintains our Drama Department at the University of Pretoria. For two years since leaving grade 12, Nompumelelo has tried to find any opportunities for work or further education and she has finally succeeded! Nompumelelo has been accepted for a Bachelor of Science Extended Degree Programme at the University of Limpopo. I have witnessed how hard Nompumelelo has worked and how resilient she is! However, her mother who only earns R3000 a month will not be able to afford the R4500 for Nompumelelo's registration fee. Please assist in covering the cost for registration!

The university neglected to inform Nompumelelo in time that she was accepted and she is now in a rush to secure funds to pay for registration. Given the high demand for entry, the faculty cannot push back the date for her any further! Please help Nompumelelo realise her dream by making a contribution. We must remember that educating a girl or woman has a ripple effect and in turn empowers whole communities! The picture is of Nompumelelo's mother, hoping to see a brighter future for her only daughter. Please help in any way that you can, you will be making a long-lasting impact!

Our Passion

Education is key in developing our country and in securing a bright future for our all of us. Educating young hard working and resilient people like Nompumelelo, is the right step in making a stronger South Africa as well as empowering our communities by uplifting them one person at a time. I believe that we can all make a big difference by empowering those who have the passion and drive to follow their dreams.

Funding will be used for

For Nompumelelo's registration fee.

More about our Project

Research shows that educating a woman or girl has a ripple effect in empowering the community around them. According to the United Nations Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF):

"An educated woman is, for example, likely to marry at a later age and have fewer children. Cross-country studies show that an extra year of schooling for girls reduces fertility rates by 5 to 10 per cent. And the children of an educated mother are more likely to survive. "

Please help empower not just this young girl but also our communities! The United States Agency of International Development (USAID) has found that by educating women and girls, countries GDP could increase and in South Africa, it would produce agricultural output! Let us help change our nation!
